Rainbows and Cute Flying Creatures, Oh My!

Bangs Adventure @ Zipogames
Rated E

Bangs Adventure is an intense flying game with bubbly graphics and catchy tunes. Bang is the star, appearing as a fish/insect hybrid that flies from one end of the spectrum to the other. During his journey he must find his friends and avoid bumping into pesky creatures!

The directions are written in another language, but the controls aren't difficult to figure out. Pressing the space bar continuously will guide Bang up and down through the obstacles, while the down arrow will shoot off a rocket that can fly through more than one nuisance at a time.

Bang will find that running into others like himself will help protect him through the perilous world. He can keep up to five friends behind him, each acting as an extra life against the baddies. A sixth friend will act as an invincibility shield for a few moments. Watch out for the blocks, though- no matter how many friends or missiles you have lined up, a brick will end the cute creature's run.
My highest score so far is 1,020m. Have fun!

Fuzzy Yellow Balls

Rescue A Chicken @ Bubblebox
Rated E

In this puzzler, the aim of the game is to bring little chubby chicks to their nests as safely as possible. Based on physics, you'll have to determine which objects to remove to send the cute yellow fuzzballs home.

For fourty-two levels, there's a whole lot of chickens to rescue!
With two continuing levels available at a time, you can move forward in the game even if you feel stuck on one level. There's also a walkthrough available.

If you like challenging gameplay wrapped in a cute package, you'll want to try out this puzzler. Good luck saving the chickens!

Exploding Bird Poop

Skywire 2 @ Miniclip
Rated E

Skywire is imaginative on many levels. It's a hybrid between puzzle and action, which means you'll need fast reflexes as well as a few working brain cells to tackle this game.

The idea is to keep the skywire vehicle and the people inside safe from monstrosities while escorting them to their destinations. A few of these dangerous obstacles include flying camel humps, exploding bird poop, and robotic panda bears. The challenges vary in each level.

The controls are quite simple: 'up' moves the people forward, 'down' moves them backwards.
As a bonus, there's a two-player mode included. Now you and a friend can race to the finish line before the skydiving pandas squish you!

Cake-Fetching Robot Fun

R.I.F.T @ Miniclip
Rated E

What could be cuter than a robot fetching cake for his beloved master?
A puppy, of course.
But no. Seriously.
In R.I.F.T, you get to play the part of the adoring, happy-go-lucky bot friend. Your goal is to fetch the delicious pastry in each level, bringing it to your increasingly pudgy master.

The controls are simple: use the arrow keys to roam and jump; use the 's' key to grab and place boxes.
There is no life limit, but if you are hit once you'll have to restart an entire level.

The robot just seems too nice to serve such a demanding master.

He's Obsessed With Your Cursor

Avoider @ OneMoreLevel
Rated E

Hoorah, another weird game! This one is strangely addictive. There's no story; just the simple task of keeping your cursor away from this pesky little character. He'll do anything to capture the arrow.

Beware of his attacks; he'll pounce if you're too close and use bombs, pipes, and rockets to destroy your arrow.

If you play, good luck! The game is not as easy as it sounds.

Something Stinks

Stinky Bean @ CrazyMonkeyGames
Rated T

Er... Stinky Bean is one of those quirky, oddball, and just plain wacky games. I'm not quite sure how to describe it.
The graphics look like they came straight from a demented cartoon. Everything's just a little twisted.

The idea behind the game is to rescue a deep-fried creature and bring it back to Mr. Scatmonkey. Stinky Bean is equiped with a bean-shooter that can pelt beans at chickens and rodents.
There's an evil acorn boss-fight too.

The game doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it's playable. And if you're looking for something different, this is definitely fresh.

Mr. Fancy Pants

Fancy Pants 2 @ Miniclip
Rated E

Stick figures in shorts? Of course! In Fancy Pants 2 you get to prance around as a stick figure in baggy clothes, running after swirlies and searching for an ice cream cone the giant rabbit stole from you. As a bonus you can "golf" with snail shells and earn new shorts.

The game is action-oriented. You can stomp on spiders, climb walls, run at break-neck speeds, and almost fly.

Each world has several sub-worlds where you can collect more swirlies.

As one of the artsy games, Fancy Pants 2 holds its own. It's a strange world but one you'll want to explore.

Ninja Monkeys and Army Balloons

Bloons 4 @ FunnyGames
Rated E

Bloons is by far the most popular tower defense game online. In this fourth installment, the game is about the same as its predecessors but with better power-ups and an online store. The online store isn't necessary, but a bonus for members.

Every few levels you'll receive a new tower that you can purchase using the money you earned from popping bloons. Money is easy to earn and the towers are easy to place. You can speed up the gameplay by pressing the fast-forward button if you're in a hurry to build.

Watching the game is nearly as entertaining as playing.

Boomerangs, bombs, guns, glue, pineapples, and tacks are just a few of the items you can hurl at the balloons. The pace of the game picks up rapidly so be sure to build your defense throughout each battle!

Cutesy Violence

Bomb It 2 @ Y8
Rated E10

In the vein of classic Bomberman, this game is all about exploding everything and everyone. It sounds like a nightmare, but its cartoony graphics and bubbly colors are a reminder that it's just a bit of slapstick humor.

You can choose the battleground and the goals for each game along with a character of your choice.
For weapons, you'll start out with a few bombs but soon find rockets, guns, hammers, and other power-ups to make the game more enjoyable.

If you like blowing things to smithereens you'll want to check out Bomb It.

Don't Crash My Train!

Railway Line @ Blitzgamer
Rated E

There's not a whole lot to offer here except for a classic puzzle. The idea is to guide your train to the station by correctly placing track pieces onto the playing board. There's no undo button, but there is a small supply of bombs that work the same way. In many cases you'll have to place pieces in odd locations just to find the one that will fit in the right spot.

As the levels progress you'll continue with partially covered boards. You can't remove all the pieces.
The train chugs along whether you're ready or not, but you can change the motion of the train to decrease or increase in speed. When the train crashes you lose a life. You only have three.

It's not the best game out there, but it's not the worst either. If you have the patience to play this game is worth the time.

Super Fast Game!

Easy Joe @ Fastgames
Rated E

Easy Joe is the perfect filler game. It takes approximately three minutes to play.

Little bunny Joe must travel through foreign lands, ride helicopters, meet other species, battle pirates, search for keys, and escape from traps. Sounds like a lot for three minutes, doesn't it?

The graphics are bright and the controls work perfectly. Just click on objects and watch the story unfold.

Tower Defense Mayhem

Onslaught @ Defend the Towers
Rated E

Onslaught is tower defense in its most basic, satisfying form. The graphics aren't much to discuss, but the gameplay is surprisingly full.

This might be the most random tower defense games you'll ever play. Without a theme, you're left to destroy whatever comes at you- a plethora of printers, insects, eyeballs, and happy glowing stars are ready to attack your defense systems.

The guns are limited but have plenty to offer. Cash is easy to obtain in-game so you can spend more time upgrading while the guns fight off pests.
True action, however, doesn't pick up until Wave 35. Until then, it's a relaxing ride.

Gerbils and Turtles and Pterodactyls, Oh My!

StonePunk@ Flonga
Rated E

StonePunk is in the genre of throwing games, but instead of hoisting a rock, cat, or alien through the air, you're sending an old dude with a collection of pets towards a new future.

With each round your aim is to move speedily towards somewhere (there really is no goal in mind). Along the way you'll fly off dinosaur backs and collect apples and gems. When you've earned enough you can buy upgrades such as better food or stronger pets.
You can also earn medals for your achievements.

It's a peculiar way to pass the time, but it's a decent alternative to the violent throwing games that exist. Like that Toss the Turtle game from Newgrounds. That poor turtle...

Pirate Booty

Tortuga 1 @ PastelGames
Tortuga 2 @ PastelGames
Tortuga 3 @ PastelGames
Rated E10

This point-n-click adventure plays out in three segments. Parts one and two take place on ship while part three veers in a different direction on land.

The object of the game is, of course, to escape. But there's more. Before long you'll be hunting down gold, blowing things up, searching maps for clues, and feeling like a true buccaneer.

You might even feel a sting on your cheek from a frying pan if you interrupt the cook too frequently.

If you play your cards right, you just might make it out alive. But don't worry. If you do make a wrong move, you'll end up where you stood before the mistake.
For a pirate game, this one is rather forgiving.
Walkthroughs are also available during the game if you feel stuck.
Good luck, matey!

Evil Bunnies and Talking Peas

Color Peas @ Shockwave
Rated E

Time for another puzzler! In this game you must sort talking peas onto a rotating game board, matching three at a time without hesitation. If you pause for a moment too long a naughty bunny will hop onto the screen and remove a pea!

There are several different modes of play: timed, survival, three lives, and more. The gameplay feels addicting fast.

If you listen closely you might just hear a pea say, "Hey, babe."

Mario

Super Mario Flash @ Flonga
Rated E

Super Mario Flash offers an authentic Mario experience right on your computer.

Based off Nintendo's best-selling franchise, Mario must again stake his claim as the world's number one plumber. In this game, he makes his way through narrow pipes, cold dungeons, and deserted lands to stomp out baddies, collect coins, and eventually save the Princess Peach. You can also play as his green brother Luigi.

The graphics are from a century ago, but in keeping with classic Mario.
Playing this brought me back to my Gameboy Color years.

This is a good place to start if you miss the old days of gaming.

Nom Nom Nom

Hunger Strike @ Flonga
Rated E10

Time to fight hunger with greasy snacks! In Hunger Strike you must battle stomach pains in a frenzied atmosphere with meaty burgers, super-sized french fries, sugary cola, and mountains of chicken wings. Are you up for the fight?

The gameplay is similar to every other tower defense game. For those of you who have never played tower defense, the idea is to set up gun stations and let those stations target the enemy. After a certain point, the game plays itself.
I made it to level fourty-eight before succombing to the feeling of hunger.

The only downside to this game is that you can't save or upload your points to a score table.
Good luck beating the gang of Ping Pangs!

Boogers

Gobtron @ TheGameHomepage
Rated E

I was tempted to rate this game EC, but then thought better of it.
Everyone can join in the snot fun!

This is another strange, mesmerizing web game. When I first tried it I wondered who would actually play it. After further investigation I realized I was still sitting by the screen, slinging snot at the little baddies trying to rack up a better score. Hm.

You can control Gobtron's large boogers and boost his power by encouraging snot growth. There are secret power ups to discover if you have the endurance to play with snot for hours.
The levels are the same with only a few minor differences. The gameplay can feel stale rather quickly, but the first five minutes may make you feel like a kid again. And if you are a kid, don't get any bright ideas from this game. Seriously.

The Smell of Cheese

Wallace and Gromit: Sprocket Rocket @ Kongregate
Rated E

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Wallace and Gromit, the dynamic duo can be summed up as British claymation characters who feel a great passion for inventions and cheese.

Their attempt to launch themselves to the moon leads us into a game of collecting sprockets and inventing gadgets for their spaceship. While the two characters don't make much of an appearance, the gameplay is surprisingly entertaining and good for the noggin.

The controls are fabulous; there's no lag to speak of and it's impossible to crash and destroy the ship. (Believe me, I tried.)
There's no baddies to speak of either; just good old fashioned brain teasers.
The interactive ship editing program is similar to that of the Nintendo DS light. You just draw what you want on the screen.

Inventing has never been so easy.

Because the focus is on solving puzzles and not on keeping the spaceship intact, this truly is a worthwhile brain game.

Stick Dudes

Hapland @ Stickpage
Rated E10

Robin Allen is the creator of the stick figure trilogy known as Hapland, where everything appears simple yet proves unbelievably complicated. Gotta love this guy.

When you click around the environment subtle events occur. These events need to happen in order and on time. Thankfully there's a restart button if you royally screw up.

Also, for your convenience, there's a walkthrough if you just can't find the next move. You can view the guide here.

Toilet Paper @ Flonga
Rated WTF

Okay, seriously, this is a game? Honestly, unraveling a roll of toilet paper might be more fun in real life.

Toilet Paper

Explody Bits

Weapon @ SniperAim
Rated T

Weapon isn't an intriguing name for a shooter, but the gameplay is better than the title. In this fps, the objective is to protect your helicopter from certain doom. Various soldiers will try to harm your aircraft with missiles, hand guns, and explody bits. In return, you can hire snipers and buy hand grenades, AK47's, rifles, TMP's, vests, and accessories for each weapon.

My only qualm is the bombs. To release a hand grenade, you have to click, wait for a circle to form, then release. By the time you've dropped the weapon your target is a few too many steps away.

The graphics are are a bit dull and on the cartoony side, but you'll be so wrapped up in nailing headshots that the imagery is hardly noticeable.
In this fast-paced game there's plenty of opportunity to wrack up points. See how many heads you can hit!

Burst My Bubble

Bubble Fill @ Flonga
Rated EC/E

I'm partial to Flonga these days. I can't help it; there's just too many screwy oddball games to try that I haven't felt bored yet. Don't worry, I'll visit other websites soon.

So, what exactly is this cutesy game, you ask? It's the bubble fill game back with super large smiles to make you happy! Hm... either happy or creeped out, I'm not sure which.

The object of the game is to fill the green space with very large smiley faces before the little red faces pop those smiles. Unfortunately, even with a timer, the game just doesn't have the gusto that a shooter or even a puzzle game might hold.

They're smiling, but those tiny bubbles aren't fairy dust.

Each game lasts only a minute or two, making it the perfect time-waster for those moments when you're waiting for the bathroom.
